The Vulgate

St. Jerome translate the Sacred Scripture from the original Greek and Hebrew in the 4th century. All the commentaries below have text from the 1979 edition of the Vulgate begun under Pope Paul VI and published under the authority of John Paul II.

Important: These commentaries are meant to be used in conjunction with The 200, a list of the two hundred most common Latin words as found at Dickinson College Commentaries.

The Old Testament
